2025: Preparing for another year of success

As the world returns to its rhythm after the holiday season, we are energised by the opportunities 2025 holds for nature restoration and sustainable development. This year is set to be a pivotal moment for our industry, building on the transformative initiatives of 2024 and paving the way for innovative and impactful partnerships.

At the heart of our commitment is the continued momentum of Biodiversity Net Gain (BNG) initiatives. Together, we aim to create long-term, meaningful change for our planet and our communities.

Reflecting on 2024: A Year of Achievements

Before we dive into what’s ahead, let’s take a moment to celebrate some of our proudest accomplishments from 2024:

🌟 Expanding Our Impact: Acquired land and launched new projects in BNG, Nutrient Neutrality, and species mitigation across the country.

🌟 Financial Success: Secured over £18 million in BNG offsets sold or under contract in 2024, excluding the value of option contracts issued on BNG units.

🌟 Welcoming New Clients: Partnered with leading names such as Avant Homes, Bellway Homes, Bloor Homes, Cala Group Limited, Connolly Homes PLC, Harron Homes Limited, UK Home Office, Keepmoat, Persimmon Homes, Perspex Distribution Ltd, and Vistry Group. Supported multiple LPA development projects and engaged with a range of small and medium-sized developers.

🌟 Supporting Small Developers: Sold fractional BNG units (down to 0.01 units) with no minimum order size, ensuring accessibility for smaller projects.

🌟 Building Collaborative Partnerships: Forged alliances with ecology practices, planning consultancies, and global contracting businesses to deliver reliable, high-quality, and affordable solutions.

Driving Integrity in Biodiversity Net Gain

As leaders in the BNG space, we remain committed to maintaining and raising the standards of integrity within the market. Here are some of the principles guiding our work:

🌱 Permanent Nature Restoration: True restoration must go beyond 30 years. Temporary gains can inadvertently harm ecosystems in the long run, and we are committed to ensuring that nature restoration is permanent.

🌱 Capital Protection: The funds required to deliver BNG projects are independently managed and safeguarded to ensure they are used solely to achieve the intended outcomes. This minimises risks of failure or misuse.

🌱 Independent Monitoring: From habitat management plans to yield calculations and ongoing monitoring, all our processes are independently verified to prevent inaccuracies, fraud, or unrealistic targets—lessons learned from the challenges faced by carbon markets.

Looking Ahead: What’s in Store for 2025

With a strong foundation laid in 2024, we’re stepping into 2025 with ambitious goals and a growing team. We’re excited to welcome new colleagues in both ecology and finance, strengthening our capacity to innovate and lead.

Throughout the year, we’ll spotlight inspiring stories from our clients—developers, planners, and organisations—who are championing remarkable projects and funding nature restoration initiatives. These stories will illustrate the tangible impact of their investments in creating a greener, more sustainable future.
